VILLA LA TORRE

Ripafratta is a medieval village that has preserved its historical beauty intact. In the past, it was an important frontier center between the Republics of Lucca and Pisa. It is a hamlet of San Giuliano Terme, a municipality famous for its thermal baths, located just 4 kilometers away. Since the time of the Etruscans and Romans, thermal water has been appreciated for its healing properties. Starting in the 18th century, the Lorena family, Grand Dukes of Tuscany, made it their summer thermal residence, endowing it with a monumental and architecturally pleasing complex that attracted the European aristocracy. Many important guests stayed at this thermal resort, including King Gustav of Sweden, George IV of England, Vittorio Alfieri, Percy and Mary Shelley, Ibrahim Pasha, and Carlo Goldoni. The water emerges at 38 degrees Celsius, giving life to a renowned thermal complex rich in therapeutic centers.

Villa La Torre is located on a hill with 5 hectares of land around it, rich in woods and olive groves, which characterize the typical Tuscan countryside landscape. It is at the heart of a picturesque view of medieval beauty. From Villa La Torre, you can see both the famous Rocca di Ripafratta (Castle Fortress) and the two watchtowers that rise on the surrounding hills. The villa also offers a panoramic view of the plain in front of the Serchio River. Its location places it less than 10 kilometers from both the center of Pisa (Piazza dei Miracoli) and the center of Lucca. Additionally, it is just 4 kilometers from the highway that connects it to the sea and all the other important cities of northern Tuscany (Lucca, Pisa, Livorno, Pistoia, Florence, Pescia, Prato, Massa, and Carrara), as well as being very close to the seaside resorts of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio (Versilia) and the Tosco-Emiliano Apennines (Garfagnana, Lunigiana).

DESCRIPTION OF THE VILLA
This residential building, called “Villa La Torre,” rises three stories above ground, plus a tower in the southwest corner, accessible from the public road via a private path. It consists of a large living area on the ground floor, a sleeping area on the first floor with a total of 4 guest bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, and two walk-in closets. On the second floor, there is a sleeping and recreational area for the owners, with a corresponding bathroom and wardrobe. A staircase, starting from the bar area, leads to the study located in the tower, which also provides access to the terrace above via the continuation of the same staircase.
